Abstract:

The present invention provides: a lens device that can be used in both three-CCD and single-CCD camera apparatuses without generating an aberration; a camera system using the lens device; and an aberration correction unit incorporated in the lens device. In a preferable mode of the present invention, a first optical element OE1 and a second optical element OE2 for generating aberrations in light having passed through a lens device L are provided. The first optical element OE1 and the second optical element OE2 are held to be relatively rotatable around an optical axis OL. When the second optical element OE2 is positioned at a first position relative to the first optical element OE1, aberrations generated by the first optical element OE1 and the second optical element OE2 are synthesized to generate an aberration which can counteract an aberration generated by a color separation prism. When the second optical element OE2 is positioned at a second position relative to the first optical element OE1, an aberration generated by the first optical element OE1 is counteracted by an aberration generated by the second optical element OE2. When the lens device L is used in a first camera apparatus which is a three-CCD type, the second optical element OE2 is positioned at the first position. When the lens device L is used in a second camera apparatus which is a single-CCD type, the second optical element OE is positioned at the second position relative to the first optical element.
