Abstract:
Disclosed is a lens for a line generator, capable of generating a rectangular line in which the distribution of light in the line width direction has clearly defined boundaries. The lens according to the present invention is employed in a line generation optical system in which a line is generated by light from a light source. Designating the longitudinal direction of the generated line as the X axis, the width direction as the Y axis, and the optic axis as the Z axis, the lens has an optical surface with which collimation is not performed in the X-axis direction and collimation or focusing is performed only in the Y-axis direction, and the inclination with respect to the X axis in the direction of transfer processing marks in an area of at least 80% of the optical surface is in the range of 40° to 50°.
