Abstract:
Provided are: a lens system that makes it possible to accurately identify an accessory without providing a dedicated terminal for an interchangeable lens and for an accessory; an accessory; a communication method; and a program. The lens system is provided with an interchangeable lens 100 and an accessory 300. The interchangeable lens 100 is provided with a lens control unit that carries out at least bidirectional data communication with the accessory prior to starting data communication with a camera main body, said bidirectional data communication being necessary to acquire identification information for the accessory. The accessory 300 is provided with an accessory control unit to which a power supply terminal and an input/output terminal are connected from among a plurality of signal lines. When an acquisition request for the identification information for the accessory is received from the interchangeable lens, the accessory control unit responds with the identification information for the accessory.
