Abstract:
This lens unit is provided with: a plurality of lenses arranged in the direction of an optical axis; a lens barrel; and a retainer. The lens barrel has an opening larger than the outer diameter of the lenses, and houses the lenses therein. The retainer abuts, from the opening side of the barrel, the lens located closest to the opening among the plurality of lenses, and holds the plurality of lenses. An object-side surface and an image-side surface of each of the lenses have formed thereon a planar section that extends radially inward from an outer edge of the lens and that is perpendicular to the optical axis direction of the lens. Each of the lenses is retained by having the planar section thereof coming into plane contact with a holding body. The retainer retains the respective lenses by biasing same in the optical axis direction.
