Abstract:
A leveling valve (1) is provided with a hollow spool (3) movable in a spool hole (8) in the axial direction. The spool hole (8) is provided with a reduced diameter portion (8A) and the spool (3) is provided with an enlarged diameter portion (3C), between these portions is formed an annular gap. The end port of the spool hole (8) is closed by a valve (11) which also faces the spool (3). When the valve (11) is lifted, an air source and one of drains communicate with an air spring path (4) via the annular gap. When the valve (11) is closed and the spool (3) retracts from the valve (11), the air source and the other of the drains communicate with the air spring path (4) via the annular gap. By setting the axial length (A) of the reduced diameter portion (8A) and the axial length (B) of the enlarged diameter portion (3C) to a different value, different flow characteristics can be achieved for compressed air supplied to the air spring and for air drained from the air spring.
