Disclosed is a library device which can secure space at the back-surface side thereof for the expansion of a cartridge. The library device has: a power supply means which supplies electricity to the library device; a media housing means which can house a plurality of computer-readable media; a media reading-writing means which reads from and writes to the media; a media transfer means which transfers the media between the media housing means and the media reading-writing means; a control means which controls the operation of the library device; and a first connection means which electrically connects the power supply means and the control means by pushing into each, and which can release the connection by withdrawing from each. The power supply means, the first connection means, and the control means are disposed along one of the side surfaces of the library device. The first connection means is disposed between the power supply means and the control means, and is connected to the power supply means and the control means.
