Abstract:
The present invention provides a library device capable of housing magazines in two tiers, wherein two magazines can be ejected simultaneously by a simple mechanism having few constituent parts. The library device is configured to have magazines capable of housing a plurality of cartridges, and a chassis capable of housing the magazines in two tiers. An accessor provided with a picker portion for retaining the cartridges and a base portion for moving the picker in the direction of magazine insertion and withdrawal and in the direction of magazine placement is provided inside the chassis. The magazine has a step member in which a step is formed. The chassis has a rotatably disposed lock member provided with a release portion and a stopper portion positioned so as to abut the step, and a biasing member for biasing the stopper portion in the direction of the step member. In response to the movement of the picker portion and the base portion in the direction of magazine withdrawal, and the movement of the picker portion in the direction of magazine tier placement, the upper tier magazine is unlocked, the lower tier magazine is unlocked, or the magazines housed in the upper and lower tiers are unlocked.
