Abstract:
Provided are a lid and a foreign body-trapping method with which foreign bodies can be trapped from liquid crystal material before the liquid crystal material is used. A lid (20), which is provided with a bottom section (22) for closing off the opening of one end of a cylindrical encircling section (21) and with which the encircling section (21) is fitted over the mouth tube provided on a container to cover the mouth tube with the bottom section (22). In the lid, the inner surface of the encircling section (21) is provided with a partitioning plate (211), which is provided in an oblique direction with respect to the bottom section (22) and is for dividing the inside of the encircling section (21) into a first space on the bottom section (22)-side and a second space on the side opposite to the bottom section (22). In the area where the partitioning plate (211) is closest to the bottom section (22), a communicating section through which the first space and the second space communicate is provided.
