Abstract:
Disclosed are: a LiDAR system which is installed in a moving vehicle and can reduce power consumption; and an operation method thereof. The LiDAR system comprises: a transmitter which outputs light; a receiver which receives light reflected from an object; and a signal processor which measure the distance to the object by using the received light. The signal processor varies the resolution of the transmitter according to travel speeds of the moving vehicle or surrounding circumstances so as to control power consumption of the LiDAR system, the transmitter outputs the light at the resolution determined by the signal processor, and the higher the resolution, the larger the number of laser beams that are output from the transmitter in a viewing angle range.
