Abstract:
This ligament fixation method comprises: forming a bone hole having a certain non-circular cross-section from the surface of a bone to a depth reaching the cancellous bone (S1); mounting a ligament or traction member to a mounting area of this ligament fixation instrument (S2); inserting the ligament fixation instrument into the bone hole while having an axial line of the ligament fixation instrument aligned with the axis of the bone hole (S5), the ligament fixation instrument being configured to have a wide breadth area having a width dimension smaller than the maximum internal dimension of the cross-section of the bone hole but greater than the minimum internal dimension thereof; rotating the ligament fixation instrument about the axial line when the ligament fixation instrument is positioned in the cancellous bone (S6); and causing the wide breadth area to be positioned at the location of the minimum internal dimension of the bone hole (S7).
