Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a light absorption anisotropic film which is capable of displaying a bright and clear image from a desired direction in an image display device, while preventing the image from being viewed from other directions; a viewing angle control system using the light absorption anisotropic film; and an image display device using the viewing angle control system. The problem is solved by a light absorption anisotropic film comprising a light absorption anisotropic layer and a first alignment layer adjacent thereto, wherein the light absorption anisotropic layer contains a liquid crystal compound and an organic dichroic substance, the angle between the transmittance center axis of the light absorption anisotropic layer and the normal line of the light absorption anisotropic layer is 5° to 45° (exclusive of 45), and the first alignment layer has a polymerizable liquid crystal compound that is hybrid-aligned.
