Title:
LIGHT ALLOY WHEEL CHUCKING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/145368
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a light alloy wheel chucking device such that the time required to lathe a light alloy wheel is reduced, and that the occurrence of center misalignment is restricted during the lathing operation. After the inner peripheral surface (4) of a rim member (A) of a workpiece (W) for a light alloy wheel and the inside surface (2) of a disk section (D) are lathed, a subsequent process is performed wherein the workpiece (W) is clamped in such a way that a hub mounting section (C), and the inside surface (2) of the disk section (D), are used as reference planes. The light alloy wheel chucking device is used for a lathe in this subsequent process. As regards this light alloy wheel chucking device, a chuck body (10) is fixed concentrically with the center of the main spindle of the lathe. At least twelve cylinder chambers (21, 31) with the same diameter are disposed radially along the circumferences of two cross sections perpendicular to the center axis of the chuck body (10) in such a way as to be located at equal azimuthal intervals. Pistons (22, 32) are operated by the pressure fluid supplied into the cylinder chambers (21, 31). The light alloy wheel chucking device comprises a flexible power chuck which subjects the inner peripheral surface (4) of the rim member (A) to compensation gripping, and a retraction type chuck whereby the hub mounting section (C) is centered and gripped, and whereby subsequently, the inside surface (2) of the disk section (D) is retracted to a reference plane of the chuck body (10) and is brought into close contact with said reference plane. As a consequence, it is made possible to machine the whole area of the outer peripheral surface (3) of the rim member (A).
