Abstract:
Provided is a light-blocking composition having excellent long-term temporal stability. Also provided are a cured film, a color filter, a light-blocking film, a solid-state imaging element, and an image display device. This light-blocking composition contains a light-blocking pigment, a resin, a polymerizable compound which is a low-molecular-weight compound containing an ethylenically unsaturated group, and a polymerization initiator. The light-blocking pigment includes inorganic particles, and an inorganic compound covering the inorganic particles. The inorganic particles contain at least one nitrogen-containing metal compound selected from the group consisting of zirconium nitride, zirconium oxynitride, vanadium nitride, vanadium oxynitride, niobium nitride, and niobium oxynitride. The inorganic compound contains a silicon atom. The atomicity ratio of the total contained amount of metal atoms selected from the group consisting of a zirconium atom, a vanadium atom, and a niobium atom with respect to the contained amount of silicon atoms, in the surface of the light-blocking pigment, is more than 1.0 as measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic analysis.
