Abstract:

A light blocking member according to the present invention is provided with: a first polarizing plate; a second polarizing plate which faces the first polarizing plate; and a temperature-sensitive sheet which is sandwiched between the first polarizing plate and the second polarizing plate. The first polarizing plate and the second polarizing plate are arranged such that the transmission axes thereof are different from each other; and the temperature-sensitive sheet contains a side-chain crystalline polymer which is crystallized at a temperature lower than the melting point, while exhibiting fluidity at a temperature equal to or higher than the melting point. This light blocking member transmits light at a temperature lower than the melting point and may not transmit light at a temperature equal to or higher than the melting point if light is caused to travel from one of the first polarizing plate and the second polarizing plate toward the other.
