Abstract:
This light control device comprises: a light control element 11 that comprises substrates 20, 21, electrodes 22,23 which are respectively provided on the substrates 20, 21, a liquid crystal layer 24 which is filled between the electrodes 22, 23, and terminals T1, T2 which are electrically connected to the electrodes 22, 23; and a drive circuit 12 that applies a first driving voltage to the terminal T1, while applying a second driving voltage, which has a polarity that is different from the polarity of the first driving voltage, to the terminal T2. The first driving voltage is set to a first voltage during a first period, to a second voltage that is lower than the first voltage during a second period following the first period, to a third voltage that is lower than the second voltage during a third period following the second period, and to a fourth voltage that is lower than the second voltage but higher than the third voltage during a fourth period following the third period.
