Abstract:

A light detection device, wherein the light detection device is provided with a photoelectric conversion unit for outputting a first electric signal corresponding to incident light that includes a modulated light component and a background light component, a filter unit for outputting a second electric signal in which a signal corresponding to the modulated light component from the first electric signal is attenuated, and a signal processing unit for reducing a signal corresponding to the background light component from the first electric signal by subtracting the second electric signal from the first electric signal. In the light detection device, the photoelectric conversion unit may have a first photoelectric conversion element and a second photoelectric conversion element each of which outputs the first electric signal, the filter unit may attenuate a signal corresponding to the modulated light component from the first electric signal that is outputted from the second photoelectric conversion element, and the signal processing unit may subtract the second electric signal from the first electric signal that is outputted from the first photoelectric conversion element.
