Abstract:
The present invention relates to a light diffusing member and the application thereof. A light diffusing member according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a base material having mutually opposing first and second surfaces, a first layer stacked in a prescribed region on the second surface of the base material, a second layer stacked in a region excluding the first layer on the second surface, and a third layer stacked on the second layer. The third layer has a first section that is made from a first material and extends from the interface with the second layer to the surface of the third layer and a second section that is made from a second material and occupies a region excluding the first section. The cross-sectional shape of the second and third layers perpendicular to the first surface is a tapered shape, widening in a direction away from the base material. The first material has a refractive index that is greater than the second material. The second layer is made from a binder resin in which a plurality of light scattering particles is distributed. The taper angle in the third layer is 20° or less.
