Abstract:
Provided is a light diffusion film which is capable of diffusing incident light into an oval shape with respect to a plane parallel to the light diffusion film, and is highly adaptable to rectangular displays. The light diffusion film for diffusing incident light into an oval shape has a structure wherein a plurality of flaky substances having comparatively high refractive index is arrayed in multiple rows in a region having comparatively low refractive index in the film in any one direction along a film surface, and when T50 (µm) represents the width of the flaky substances at the position 50 µm below the top end of the flaky substances in the film-thickness direction of the light diffusion film and L50 (µm) represents the length in the aforementioned any one direction for the flaky substances, the following relational expression (1) is satisfied:
0.05 ≤ T50 / L50 < 0.9 (1)
