Abstract:
A light distribution control device (HSS) comprises: at least one detection unit (SK) that detects the wetness (SD) of a road surface (RM) on the basis of the speed (SS) of a vehicle (SR) and the reception intensity (JK) of ultrasonic waves attributed to water droplets and a water film on the road surface (RM) on which the vehicle (SR) is traveling; a first determination unit (RH) that determines that road surface reflection is present on the road surface (RM) when the detected wetness (SD) is greater than a predetermined reference wetness (SDK); a second determination unit (GH) that determines whether at least one of the state of the vehicle (SR) and the state of the road surface (RM) satisfies a condition (GJ) that could cause an error in the determination by the first determination unit (RH); and a control unit (ZS) which, if the first determination unit (RH) has determined that the road surface reflection is present on the road surface (RM), changes the light distribution of headlights (ZT) of the vehicle (SR) so as to suppress specular reflected light from the road surface (RM) when the second determination unit (GH) has determined that the condition (GJ) is not satisfied by the state of the vehicle (SR) or the state of the road surface (RM), and maintains the light distribution of the headlights (ZT) of the vehicle (SR) when the second determination unit (GH) has determined that at least one of the state of the vehicle (SR) and the state of the road surface (RM) satisfies the condition (GJ).
