Title:
LIGHT EMISSION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/045453
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present embodiment pertains to a light emission device with which it is possible to remove zero-order light from the output light of an S-iPM laser. The light emission device comprises an active layer and a phase modulation layer. A phase modulation layer includes a basic layer and a plurality of different refractive index regions. In a state in which an imaginary square lattice is set on the phase modulation layer, the center of gravity of each of the different refractive index regions is set away from the corresponding lattice point, and the angle of rotation around each lattice point determining the position of the center of gravity of each of the different refractive index regions is determined according to the phase distribution for optical image formation. The lattice spacing and the light emission wavelength satisfy the criteria for M point oscillation in a reciprocal lattice space of the phase modulation layer. The size of at least one of the in-plane wave vectors in four directions, which are formed in the reciprocal lattice space and each of which includes a wave number spread corresponding to the angular spread of output light, is less than 2π/λ.
