Abstract:
The invention is a light-emitting building module for replacing paving, wall coverings, roofing tiles and fence elements. The building module is a single molded resin body (1) having a shape of a compatible paving stone, roof tile or covering element. The center of the resin body (1) includes a light emitting diode (LED) unit (2) and a cabling (3), which can be positioned on any side of the body. The LED unit (2) may be RGB color tunable or may have a single colored material. The resin body (1) may be colorable and may have an alterable optical dispersion. The power supply of the building modules installed individually or connected to a network may be provided by an external transformer unit. The building modules may be equipped with an external electrical control unit.

Claims

1. Light-emitting building module, preferably for construction, decoration or lighting purposes, with a lighting unit installed in its load-bearing structure, characterized in that the dimensional shape of the compatible paving stone, roof tile or covering element is produced from a single molded resin body (1). The center of the resin body (1) includes the LED unit (2) and the cabling (3), which can be positioned on any side of the body.

2. Light-emitting building module according to Claim 1 , characterized in that it is preferably a scale model paving stone, roof tile or paving element.

3. Light-emitting building module according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that it has a colorable resin body (1) with alterable optical dispersion.

4. Light-emitting building module according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the power supply of the building modules installed individually or connected to a network is provided by an external transformer unit, preferably with 12 V. Moreover, they can be equipped with an external electrical control unit.

5. Light-emitting building module according to Claim 1 , characterized in that its LED unit (2) is RGB color tunable or it has single colored material.

Description:
Light-emitting building module

The utility model is a building block which is suitable for replacing paving, wall coverings, roofing tiles and fence elements. The module is made of a light- transmitting and weatherproof material, preferably colored or translucent synthetic resin designed for adequate strength, with a light-emitting diode unit (or multiple units) inside.

There are several paving stones, building elements and decorative units with built-in luminaries, which are capable of transmitting natural light or using renewable energy independently. The US invention no. 2007/0263381 represents a building module with a design suitable for installing a replaceable lighting unit. In this form, we can create the design of the profile by etching a conventional building element. However, this makes the product quite vulnerable and it tend to suffer from deterioration due to the replaceable /periodically replaceable unit.

US 2007/0074484 A1 is closer to our invention. This innovative solution is capable of emitting light on the entire surface of the unit similar to our solution. The novelty of the US solution is that it does not require external power supply, since it can transmit light from the place it has been incurred towards the other side of the profile due to its material and design. However, its application completely depends on external light source due to its design. Thus, besides its function, it also differs from our solution in the field and nature of use.

Most of the solutions represented in industrial property documents prefer the transformation and application of renewable energy sources. As you can see in the description of

- US 20160301355 A1 and

- HU 227556 and in patent

- US 2005/0039789 Al, most of the solutions differ only in shape, color and size.

These solutions have many disadvantages during their use. Most of the designs have own solar cells and energy storage modules, which need to be replaced after certain operating hours, and their energy storage capacity is constantly decreasing during their use. It is a further disadvantage of all of the above-mentioned inventions that their usability confines only to certain areas due to their load- bearing capacity or weight. With our invention we aimed to eliminate the deficiencies of the existing solutions by creating a product, of which weight and load-bearing capacity provides broader applicability. Due to its light-transmitting material, the light of the light-emitting unit is visible from all directions, so the positioning of the light- emitting surface is not relevant during production.

The utility model is based on the idea of creating a heavy-duty building element made of light transmitting material by applying modem light-emitting diodes. Its low energy demand also makes this decoration or building element environmentally friendly. This module can be used in constmction or lighting technology, its entire surface is transmitting diffuse light and it is made of homogeneous molded resin in different forms, sizes and colors, or it is produced from other translucent material. In further favorable designs of the invention, instead of a supporting structure, the module is molded as a single homogeneous resin body, which includes the light-emitting unit and the cable outlets as well.

Compatible with the intended purpose, the utility pattern is made of a material which can be easily cast and shaped (synthetic resin) during manufacturing. Thus, we can create conventional paving stones and other types of coverings in any shape and size. Our invention is therefore suitable for replacing paving, wall coverings, roofing tiles and fence elements.

This invention is a heavy-duty, weatherproof building module with a light- emitting diode, which has external power supply. The stmcture of the module provides the load bearing capacity of the architecture, in which the light-emitting unit is secured during production. This unit diffuses light in all directions of the architecture. In case of any damage or failure, safety is guaranteed by its interior arrangement with low-current, preferably 12V power supply. The supplying cable outlet can be positioned on any side of the structure. The installation and the cabling themselves are not required to be watertight, since they are completely surrounded by the resin during molding. In a favorable design, the utility model has a shape of a paving stone. One of the favorable designs of the invention is a paving stone module which can be inserted in the surface of the pavement. The dimensions and the load-bearing capacity of this module are similar to the properties of a conventional paving stone. The load- bearing body of the module and the light-emitting diode within, are surrounded from all sides by light diffusing resin cover. In this case, the module touches the ground on one side, maintains contact with the neighboring paving stones with its lateral surfaces, while the light emitting top part can be used by the pedestrians. Once the unit is switched on, it can be used as a decorative or lighting element, but it may also function as a street sign or a direction indicator. In another favorable design, the building module equipped with a light-emitting unit can be applied as a roof tile, wall cover or fence panel.

According to the first design of the building module equipped with a light- emitting unit, the invention can be created as a paving stone with optional form, shape and size.

According to the second design of the building module equipped with a light- emitting unit, the invention can be preferably created as a roof tile or other roof covering module.

According to the third design of the building module equipped with a light- emitting unit, the invention can be preferably created as a wall cover element.

According to the fourth design of the building module equipped with a light- emitting unit, the invention can be preferably created as a fence panel.

In further favorable designs, all types (form, shape, function) of the light-emitting building module can also be equipped with an RGB, color tunable LED. The base unit is preferably colorless, and besides this matte light diffusing surface, the building module can also be produced with variable colors. Besides connecting single modules, a light technology system can also be installed. In case of both individual and system application, the building module can be connected to any electrical control unit, such as twilight switches or timers.

The advantage of our solution is that due to its material, electrical units can be installed to be weatherproof, UV-resistant and watertight. Thanks to its scale model design, it is suitable for replacing any kind of paving stone or profile. A wide variety of blocks can be created depending on the casting mold of the resin, while keeping its interior arrangement unchanged in all cases. Preferably, a LED unit is installed in the interior which is surrounded by resin from all sides. It has a long-lasting light-emitting unit, so change is not required. Moreover, it has low- energy-intensive operation, so a network with multiple units does not even charge the electrical system. Furthermore, its low voltage power consumption provides safe application and protection against electric shock.

The widespread use of the invention is demonstrated by Figure 1. The current design is similar to a conventional paving stone both in size and pattern, which makes it possible to use the module without transformation. However, contrary to the conventional paving stones, its dimensional shape is produced from a single molded resin body. In order to assist the installation of the module, the 3 cabling can be positioned on any side of the body. Keeping low power consumption in mind, the unit used for lighting technology purposes is preferably implemented with 2 LED units, which are installed in the load-bearing body of the module and surrounded by resin from all sides. With the help of the 3 cabling, we are able to connect several model units and we can also add electrical control units on demand. Connected units may also provide lighting, decoration or road sign functions. We can create extraordinary and modem appearance for paved surfaces by replacing some of the paving stones with this utility model.
