Title:
LIGHT-EMITTING COMPONENT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2003100879
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a light-emitting component (LED) comprising a support (1), electrodes (2, 5), a light-emitting layer (4) and, optionally, one or more additional layers (3). Said light-emitting layer (4) contains at least two organic constituents that emit light in different colors. One of the constituents is provided in excess, and the emission of light by the constituent or constituents not provided in excess is reduced or entirely suppressed in locally defined regions with regard to the rest of the layer as a result of a radiochemical process. This component, which can be produced in a rapid and economical manner, can be advantageously used in devices that require a structured polychromatic light emission.
