Abstract:
Provided are: a light emitting element, which emits light in the near-infrared region, and has a high efficiency and a long service-life; and a light emitting device, an authentication device, and an electronic apparatus, each of which is provided with the light emitting element. A light emitting device (100) of the present invention is provided with a light emitting element (1A) that has: an anode (3); a cathode (8); and a light emitting layer (5), which is provided between the anode (3) and the cathode (8), and which emits light in the near-infrared region by carrying a current between the anode (3) and the cathode (8). The light emitting device emits visible light equal to or more than 5 cd/cm2 when a current is carried between the anode (3) and the cathode (8) at a current density equal to or lower than 300 A/cm2.
