Abstract:
Provided is a light-emitting device in which a plurality of light-emitting elements (300) arranged in a matrix are provided on a semiconductor substrate (200), the light-emitting elements provided so as to be covered by a first protective film each having: a lamination comprising a first electrode (302), a light-emitting layer (304) provided on the first electrode, a second electrode (306) provided on the light-emitting layer, and a second protective film (308) provided on the second electrode; and a side wall (310) formed from a material having a difference refractive index than the material forming the first protective film, and covering at least a portion of a side surface of the lamination, the side wall extending from top to bottom in the lamination direction from a position higher than the upper surface of the second electrode to a position lower than the upper surface of the light-emitting layer.
