Abstract:
Metal wiring (731) is formed in a straight-line area (S) of an insulative substrate (720), and metal wiring (732) is formed in an approximately parallel manner, a predetermined interval from metal wiring (731). Metal wiring (731) is connected to the n-type semiconductor core (701) of rod-shaped light-emitting elements (710A to 710D), and metal wiring (732) is connected to a p-type semiconductor layer (702). By dividing the insulative substrate (720) into a plurality of divided substrates, a plurality of light-emitting devices are formed so as to comprise rod-shaped light emitting elements (710) positioned on divided substrates. Of the plurality of light-emitting elements, a rod-shaped light-emitting element (710), the desired light-emitting quantity of which is not affected even if cut in the substrate division step, is disposed in the cutting area of the insulative substrate (720), and even if light is no longer emitted by a rod-shaped light-emitting element (710) due to damage caused by cutting, light is emitted by the remaining plurality of rod-shaped light-emitting elements that have not been cut.
