Abstract:
The present invention provides a light emitting device, such as a display device or an illumination device, that can improve decreases in element characteristics such as color reproducibility caused by colors being mixed by light emitted from a light-emitting layer crossing through a barrier and leaking into the region of adjacent light-emitting layers. This light emitting device is characterized by: comprising a substrate, a plurality of first electrodes formed on the substrate, barriers formed on the substrate so as to cover the peripheral edge of each first electrode, light emitting layers formed on the first electrodes in the region delimited by the barriers, and second electrodes formed on the light emitting layers; the barriers having a tapered cross-sectional shape; the maximum film thickness of the barriers being 1.1-10.0μm; and the barriers being separate from each other.
