Abstract:
[Problem] To sufficiently improve the light extraction efficiency for a light-emitting element, while facilitating the concentration and projection of the emitted light to an optical assembly provided in a subsequent stage. [Solution] A light-emitting device is equipped with a light-emitting element and a tapered rod that has a larger area for the exit surface than for the entrance surface, and the space between the light-emitting element and the tapered rod is filled with a transparent resin. The light-emitting device is characterized in that at least a portion of the tapered rod has a higher refractive index than the transparent resin.
