Abstract:
A light emitting section (140) is formed on a substrate (100), and has an organic layer. A coating member (200) covers the light emitting section (140). A surface (202) of the coating member (200), said surface being on the reverse side of the substrate (100), has at least one side (204) and a recessed section (220). The recessed section (220) extends from a portion (222) of the surface (202), said portion excluding end portions of the surface, toward each of both the ends of the side (204). A light emitting device (10) may be a bottom emission-type light emitting device or a top emission-type light emitting device.
