Abstract:
The invention causes light to be emitted from a smoother curved surface and can be produced more simply with a generic material and a simple structure. This light-emitting device contains: a flat-plate-shaped acrylic plate having formed therein rectilinear holes of a predetermined length which penetrate through the front surface and the back surface; and a light source that causes light from a side surface of the acrylic plate to be incident to the acrylic plate at an angle of 0 degrees to 45 degrees relative to the length direction of the holes. A plurality of holes forms a single row in the length direction of the holes and a plurality of rows of the holes are arranged in parallel such that the position of the holes in adjacent rows are displaced from each other in the length direction of the holes. The length of each of the holes is 10 mm to 30 mm. The spacing between each of the holes disposed in one row is 1 mm to 10 mm. The spacing between each of the rows of the holes is 1 mm to 3 mm.
