Abstract:
A light emitting diode according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a substrate that has an elongated rectangular shape in one direction thereof; a light emitting structure positioned on the substrate and having an opening for exposing a first conductive semiconductor layer through a second conductive semiconductor layer and an active layer; a first electrode pad which is disposed on the first conductive type semiconductor layer within the opening and is disposed to be closer to a first corner of the substrate; a second electrode pad which is disposed on the second conductive semiconductor layer and is disposed to be relatively closer to a second corner of the substrate opposing to the first corner; a first extension portion extending from the first electrode pad; and a second extension portion and a third extension portion extending from the second electrode pad to either side of the first extension portion, wherein a virtual line connecting an end of the second extension portion and an end of the third extension portion is located between the first electrode pad and the first corner.
