Abstract:
Provided is a light emitting element having high luminous efficiency and reliability. This light emitting element includes a host material and a guest material in a light emitting layer. The host material serves to convert triplet excitation energy into luminescence, and the guest material emits fluorescence. The molecular structure of the guest material has a luminophore and protecting groups, wherein the number of the protecting groups contained in one guest material molecule is 5 or more. By introducing the protecting groups into the molecule, the energy transfer of the triplet excitation energy by the Dexter mechanism from the host material to the guest material is suppressed. As a protecting group, an alkyl group or a branched alkyl group is used.
