Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a light-emitting element whereby light can be efficiently extracted and power consumption is further reduced. [Solution] A light-emitting element comprising: a lower electrode provided upon a support layer; a first member that forms a recessed structure and has a cavity in the interior thereof, as a result of surrounding the lower electrode and being provided upon the support layer; an organic layer provided upon the lower electrode and the first member, along the recessed structure, and including an organic light-emitting material; an upper electrode provided above the organic layer, along the recessed structure; and a second member provided above the upper electrode so as to fill the recessed structure and having a higher refractive index than the first member.
