Abstract:
This light-emitting element drive device comprises connection terminals which are provided in a quantity corresponding to a plurality of channels and which are configured to be connectable to light-emitting units, and the device can supply drive current to the light-emitting units through the connection terminals for the respective channels. During a period in which drive current is not supplied to the light-emitting units, a detection process for detecting a specific abnormality is executed. The detection process includes: a first comparison process in which, when a pull-up current is supplied toward one of two connection terminals, the voltage of the other connection terminal is compared with a determination voltage; and a second comparison process in which, when the pull-up current is supplied toward the other connection terminal of the two connection terminals, the voltage of the one connection terminal is compared with the determination voltage.
