Abstract:
Provided is a light-emitting element having excellent external quantum efficiency. This light-emitting element comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a first organic layer and a second organic layer provided between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, wherein: the first organic layer is a layer including a metal complex represented by formula (1), and a compound represented by formula (H); and the second organic layer is a layer including a crosslinked product of a crosslinking material. (In formula (1), M represents an iridium atom etc., n1 represents an integer of 1 or greater, n2 represents an integer of 0 or greater, E1 and E2 each represent a carbon atom etc., ring L1 represents an aromatic heterocycle, ring L2 represents an aromatic hydrocarbon ring etc., at least one of ring L1 and ring L2 includes a dendron, and A1-G1-A2 represents an anionic bidentate ligand.) (In formula (H), nH1 represents an integer from 0 to 5, nH2 represents an integer from 1 to 10, ArH1 represents a specific monovalent heterocyclic group, LH1 represents an alkylene group, an arylene group, etc., and ArH2 is a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group including an sp2 nitrogen atom as a ring-constituting atom.)
