The purpose of the present invention is to provide a light emitting module which is formed by disposing a plurality of light emitting elements on the same plane, can obtain high light extraction efficiency, has excellent versatility, and can be advantageously manufactured. This light emitting module is provided with: a plurality of planar light emitting elements provided to be arranged on one surface of a substrate; an intermediate layer provided on the one surface of the substrate in a state where the respective light emitting elements are buried therein; and a plurality of lens elements provided on one surface of the intermediate layer and correspond to the light emitting elements, respectively. Each of the lens elements is formed into an imperfect sphere shape having a sag less than or equal to the radius of curvature thereof, and the bottom surface thereof is joined to the one surface of the intermediate layer. Further, each of the lens elements is provided in a state where the center of curvature of a spherical surface constituting an emission surface is located between the light emitting surface of the light emitting element corresponding thereto and the surface of the intermediate layer, and the optical axis matches the central axis of the light emitting element corresponding thereto.
