Abstract:
In this invention, the light distribution for light from an EML (126) has a higher luminosity in a first direction (D1), which is different from a reference direction (R), compared to that in the reference direction (R). The reference direction (R) is the central direction of the light distribution, and for instance, is the direction along the thickness direction of a base plate (100), the direction along the thickness direction of each layer (for instance, EML (126)) from a resonator (150), or the normal direction of a second surface (104) of the base plate (100). In addition, the light distribution has a higher luminosity compared to that in the reference direction (R) also in a second direction (D2), which is, from the reference direction (R), on the side opposite to the first direction (D1).
