A light field display apparatus, which relates to the technical field of display. The light field display apparatus comprises: a display screen (1), and a lens unit (2) provided on a light-emergent side of the display screen (1), wherein the lens unit (2) comprises a plurality of lenses (3) arranged in an array; the display screen (1) is provided on focal planes of the plurality of lenses (3); the display screen (1) comprises a first substrate (11) and a second substrate (12) which are subjected to cell alignment; the first substrate (11) is a light-emergent-side substrate; the second substrate (12) comprises a plurality of pixel islands arranged in an array; each pixel island comprises at least one sub-pixel; the plurality of pixel islands correspond to the plurality of lenses (3); a view area formed by propagating light rays, which are emitted from the sub-pixels of the pixel islands, to human eyes through the corresponding lenses (3) is less than or equal to a half-pupil area; and light rays, which are emitted from different sub-pixels in the pixel islands, at different points of sight enter different visual cone cells through the lenses.
