Title:
LIGHT GUIDE BODY, ILLUMINATION DEVICE, AND IMAGE READING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/080798
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] Provided are a bar-shaped light guide body which can be easily built
in an image reading device, a line illumination device, an intimate contact type
image sensor, and an image reading device using the bar-shaped light guide body.
[MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] For example, a bar-shaped light guide body has a
protrusion having a flat or a curved surface obtained by polishing the end surface
in its longitudinal direction while leaving 80% of the area ratio or more. A heat
transfer film is bonded to the protrusion to form a reflection surface. Thus,
even if a part of the protrusion is melted when performing thermal processing
of the heat transfer film, the melted portion will not go out of the cross sectional
area of the bar-shaped light guide body and it is easy to contain the light guide
body in a case.
