A light guide plate and a backlight module are provided. The backlight module includes a light guide plate (200) and a light source (210). The light guide plate includes a lateral light-incident surface (201), a reflective surface (202), a light emitting surface (203) and a lateral light-compensating surface (204). The lateral light-incident surface is used for receiving the light ray from the light source. The reflective surface is used for reflecting the light ray received by the lateral light-incident surface. The lateral light-compensating surface is opposite to the lateral light-incident surface and reflects the light ray emitted from the lateral light-incident surface and the reflective surface. Fluorescence powder (206) is provided on the lateral light-compensating surface and can be excited by the light ray to emit the compensating light, so that the color of the light emitted from the light emitting surface can be modulated. By coating fluorescence powder on the lateral light-compensating surface, the difference of the colors of the one-side lighting backlight module can be reduced, and better visual effect and product quality can be achieved.
