Abstract:

In a light modulation film (1), a light modulation layer (30), the state of which reversibly changes between a transparent state due to hydrogenation and a reflective state due to dehydrogenation, and a catalyst layer (40) for promoting hydrogenation and dehydrogenation in the light modulation layer are provided in this order on a polymer film base material (10). The light modulation layer (30) has a light modulation region (32) at a thickness of 10 nm or greater in which the oxygen content on the catalyst layer (40) side thereof is less than 50 atomic% in the distribution in the film thickness direction of element concentrations measured by X-ray electron spectroscopy, and has an oxidation region (31) in which the oxygen content on the polymer film base material (10) side thereof is 50 atomic% or greater.
