Abstract:
In the present invention, a light source emits light the cross section of which has an elongated shape as seen from the travel direction of light. A light-receiving unit is provided with a plurality of avalanche photodiodes having light-receiving surfaces which receive reflected light, the light-receiving unit having: a structure in which the light-receiving surfaces are arranged in a row with prescribed intervals given therebetween in the direction in which the elongated shape extends; and a surface which includes the light-receiving surfaces. When a direction orthogonal to both the direction in which the light-receiving surfaces are arranged and the direction in which the reflected light travels is defined as the orthogonal direction, an optical system guides the reflected light to the light-receiving unit by aligning the focal point of the direction in which the light-receiving surfaces are arranged with the front of the abovementioned surface and aligning the focal position of the orthogonal direction with the abovementioned surface.
