Abstract:
A light reception device according to the present technology comprises: a light-receiving unit for receiving reflected light produced by reflection, by a subject, of light emitted by a light-emitting unit due to light emission commands issued on the basis of a prescribed processing cycle; and a calculation unit for calculating information relating to the distance to the subject according to the difference between the light emission timing of the light-emitting unit and the light reception timing of the light-receiving unit. The light emission commands are timed so as to be delayed, every medium period which includes a plurality of small periods which include one light emission event, by a shift period with respect to a reference timing in each of the prescribed processing cycles. The ratio of the shift period relative to a small period is modified every large period which includes a plurality of the medium periods.
