Abstract:
This light-source device for endoscope comprises: a light source unit having a first light source which generates blue light, a second light source which generates green light, and a third light source which generates red light; and a light source control unit which can control the light-emitting state of each light source. If the light-emitting intensity of the second light source is at or below a predetermined light-emitting intensity, the light source control unit performs first control that varies the light-emitting intensity of the first to third light sources in such a manner that the color balance of the light of different colors is maintained at a predetermined color balance. If the light-emitting intensity of the second light source is greater than a predetermined light-emitting intensity, the light source control unit performs second control in which the light-emitting intensity of the third light source is varied using a different method to the first control, while varying the light-emitting intensity of the first and second light sources using the same method as the first control, in such a manner that the color balance of the light of different colors is a different color balance to the predetermined color balance.
