Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a small light source device and projection device. [Solution] A light source device 60 comprises: a blue laser diode 71 in an excitation light irradiation device 700 for emitting first wavelength band light; a red light source 121 in a red light source device 120 for emitting second-wavelength band light; a fluorescent wheel 101 in which a wavelength conversion region 102 and a light transmitting region 103 are circumferentially arranged side by side, wherein the wavelength conversion region 102 is a region for converting the first wavelength band light incident from one surface to third-wavelength band light with a different wavelength band from the first wavelength band light and the second wavelength band light and outputting the third wavelength band light from the other surface, and the light transmitting region 103 is a region for outputting the first wavelength band light incident from one surface from the other surface; and a dichroic mirror 146 that transmits one of the first and second wavelength band light and reflects the other.
