Title:
LIGHT SOURCE DEVICE AND PROJECTOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/100977
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention provides a light source device in which the light density of excitation light at the light entry surface of a wavelength conversion layer decreases, whereby a decrease in the wavelength conversion efficiency can be inhibited. The present invention also provides a projector provided with the abovementioned light source device. This light source device is provided with: an excitation light source for emitting excitation light; a light-condensing optical system for condensing the excitation light source; a first translucent member for transmitting the excitation light emitted from the light-condensing optical system; and a wavelength conversion layer having a first light entry surface intersecting the direction of travel of the excitation light, a light emission surface opposite the first light entry surface, and a second light entry surface connecting an end part of the first light entry surface and an end part of the light emission surface. The focal point of the light-condensing optical system is formed inside the wavelength conversion layer. The wavelength conversion layer performs wavelength conversion on the excitation light entering from the first light entry surface and the second light entry surface and generates fluorescent light.
