Abstract:
Provided is a light source device (1) provided with: a point light source (2) having high directivity; a housing (3) which has a housing bottom plate, housing side plates and an opening, and inner wall surfaces of which are formed of reflective surfaces, wherein the point light source (2) is arranged on the housing bottom plate, the housing side plates are provided to stand with a predetermined height from the periphery of the housing bottom plate, and the opening is provided on a side facing the housing bottom plate; and an optical reflective plate (4) which covers the opening and causes light emitted from the point light source to exit in the form of substantially uniform illuminating light. In the light source device, the housing side plates are characterized in that at least one of the housing side plates has a side central reflective portion and a side outside reflective portion formed in a region in the side plate that is the closest to the point light source (2), and in another region in the side plate that is located outside the side central reflective portion, respectively, wherein: the side central reflective portion has a high optical reflectance and low optical transmittance; and the side outside reflective portion has a lower optical reflectance and higher optical transmittance at a location more distant from the side central reflective portion. This configuration makes it possible to provide a light source device enabled to cause illuminating light to exit from multiple surfaces and usable for various purposes.
