Abstract:

Provided is a light source device for illuminating a target to be imaged by an image-capture unit that includes N types of photodetector elements having mutually different wavelength sensitivity bands, i.e., detectable wavelength bands, the device including a light source unit (120), an insertion unit (180), an illuminating light emission unit (190), and light guide members (162, 166). The light source unit emits a number M of narrow-band light having mutually different peak wavelengths, the differences among the peak wavelengths of the of narrow-band light being equal to or greater than the effective wavelength interval. The insertion unit is designed for insertion into an internal space of a physical object, in which internal space the target is present. The illuminating light emission unit is furnished to the insertion unit, and emits illuminating light on the basis of guided light. The light guide members guide the narrow-band light emitted from the light source unit, to the illuminating light emission unit.
