Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to reduce power consumption even when implementing high brightness. A light source drive device (100) comprises: a drive circuit (40) which supplies a light source drive signal to a light source (11); a counter electromotive force circuit (50) which generates a counter electromotive force, and adds a counter signal corresponding to the generated counter electromotive force to the light source drive signal; and a control circuit (90). When a target brightness is less than a prescribed threshold, the control circuit (90) drives the light source (11) with the light source drive signal without adding the counter signal to the light source drive signal. When the target brightness is greater than or equal to the threshold, the control circuit (90) adds the counter signal to the light source drive signal, and drives the light source (11) with the counter signal and the light source drive signal.
