Abstract:
Provided is a light source optical system (100) equipped with: a light source (1) for emitting excitation light (L0); a wavelength converting unit (2) for generating light having a wavelength that is different from the excitation light (L0) by irradiating the excitation light (L0); and light deflection focusing units (3, 4a, 4b) for overlapping three or more odd number of light fluxes (L1, L2, L3), which radiate in different directions from one another from the wave length converting unit (2), with another light flux (L4), which radiates in a different direction from light fluxes (L1, L2, L3), by focusing three or more odd number of light fluxes (L1, L2, L3) to the wavelength converting unit (2) from behind light flux (L4) and by re-irradiating light fluxes (L1, L2, L3).
