Abstract:
A light source system (10) comprises: a light source device (100) that generates illuminating light; and a light source module (300) that supplies light to the light source device, said light source module being configured so as to be attached to and removed from the light source device. The light source device has: first light sources (LD1-LD3); and a first storage circuit (110) storing therein characteristic information of the first light sources. The light source module has: a second light source (LD4); and a second storage circuit (310) storing therein characteristic information of the second light source. The light source device has a light source control circuit (120) that determines drive conditions of the first light sources and the second light source on the basis of the characteristic information of the first light sources and the second light source. The light source module operates using a providing function of the light source device, and capability information of the providing function is stored in the first storage circuit. The light source control circuit obtains, on the basis of the capability information of the providing function, the range of a light quantity that can be outputted by the second light source, and controls the output light quantity of the second light source within the range of the light quantity that can be outputted by the second light source.
